A single grain, single cask whisky proudly bottled and produced by Schalk and Andre Pienaar
The story
On a warm Saturday afternoon around a fire, André and his dad, Schalk, came up with an idea: To create the tiniest whisky batch in South Africa, with an emphasis on quality, detail, and complexity of flavour.
André is a scientist with expertise in biochemistry and Schalk is a chemical engineer. So between them, they had the skills required to give it a shot.
They spent years perfecting every small detail: from their distillation processes and the ingredients to the design of the bottle. Everything had to be perfect.
Then, in 2018, they took the chance. They filled their first barrel knowing that they would only be able to reap the rewards four years later, once the spirit had matured.
The story
Thank goodness it paid off. Because in 2022, they opened the barrel to a Bourbon style whisky that was nothing short of spectacular.
It was so smooth, so complex, and so unique that it completely blew South Africa away. It sold out in seven days.
The sixth set of casks have just been released, and there are only 550 bottles available across both the Heavy and Medium Char variants.
